What attracted you to UST?
It’s a smaller university where I felt at home.

Did you visit campus prior to enrolling?
Yes. I met with a transfer admissions counselor, financial aid counselor, and a veteran’s benefit specialist.

How would you describe the UST community to another veteran?
UST has been a great experience thus far. I’ve already made several friends and do not feel like an outcast in any way, shape, or form. The acceptance of the students and faculty only reinforce my decision to attend St. Thomas.

What advice would you give another veteran?
Start early! Talk with your transfer admissions counselor, financial aid counselor, and the veterans benefit specialist. Visit UST and seek out as much information prior to enrolling so that the transition is seamless. When in doubt, ask questions!

What UST resource did you find the most helpful?
Chiara Babcock, a veteran’s benefit specialist, was the most helpful. She was thorough and effective in addressing my G.I. Bill concerns.

Are you using veteran’s benefits at UST?
Yes.  The G.I. Bill has made all the difference in the world. Without this assistance, I would not be able to afford St. Thomas.
