Promoting Events and Services

We support staff in the Division of Student Affairs in developing effective strategies for promoting events, programs and services.  We consult on projects and design/ develop collateral pieces for programs, events and services for staff in Student Affairs.

The Anderson Student Centers offers an all-digital display opportunity to advertise primarily on campus programs, services and upcoming events.  Access to the request system is available to St. Thomas faculty and staff with an active ID and undergraduate students registered as a member of a recognized student club or organization.  Find more information about digital posters in ASC here.  The posters should follow the parameters outlined here.

The Anderson Student Center has a number of equipment options that departments may use to market their events.  Reservations for this equipment can be made through Tommie Central (651-962-6137) Learn more here.

St. Thomas Newsroom is a great way to increase awareness for a program, services, event, or opportunity.  You may submit news to Newsroom using the Submit News form.  The Newsroom events calendar pulls its information from the room scheduling application R25. For your event to appear on the events feed, schedule your room in R25 and provide as many details as possible when filling out the form. Make sure to click the box labeled “Include in Newsroom’s calendar.” All events with the most complete information will be curated by our editors and added to the calendar.

Social media can be another great marketing strategy.  There are a number of departments in Student Affairs who have social media accounts with whom you can collaborate (link to above page).  There are also colleagues across campus that may be willing to assist.

  • University of St. Thomas recognized student clubs and organizations, departments, and offices may reserve space to hang a banner advertisement in the ASC atrium through the Department of Campus Life (ASC 325). Banners may be displayed for a maximum of two weeks prior to a specific event or for two weeks for general announcements based on availability.  Banners cannot exceed dimensions of 3' horizontally by 6' vertically and need to allow for two inches at the top and bottom for hanging materials.
  • HAVE A BANNER MADE FOR YOU: Departments can also submit a request to have a Program Resource Center student employee create a banner.  Click here to submit a request.
