Jo Montie, MA is an Online Learning Support Systems Consultant with the University of St. Thomas STELAR St. Thomas E-Learning and Research team. Jo’s work focuses on creating sustainable systems of support for both students and faculty in online and blended programs to realize quality student outcomes.
Ms. Montie received her MA in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota (1996) and a BS in Behavioral Disabilities from the University of WI-Madison (1984) with her professional roots as a special education teacher. Jo has continued her professional commitment to inclusivity, access and equity as a teaching faculty at St. Thomas from 2003-2017, and department level online program development from 2013-2016. Jo brings expertise in online program development, curriculum development, online pedagogy and systems change to UST. Jo’s more than 25 years of teaching and work in schools continues to stress the need for collaboration, reflective practice and greater access and equity for all learners; these are values and practices that our STELAR team seeks to bring into online and blended program work throughout the university!
