Orientation and Convocation
On August 26th and September 9th, The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity will host events to welcome new and returning students back to campus. The New Student Orientation Program will begin at 2pm on Wednesday August 26th. The sessions will introduce students to academic life at the School of Divinity including a presentation by the Director of the Ireland Memorial Library, an overview of the technology resources used by students in managing their programming and coursework, and advising with their program directors.
A social event that joins new and returning lay students along with faculty, staff, alumni and presenters will follow.
On the same day, beginning at 3:30pm, returning students will receive any necessary program updates, as well as participate in a panel discussion with representatives from the Archdiocese, parishes, and partner organizations on opportunities to live, work and serve while utilizing their degrees in various vocations.
On September 9th, the entire Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity community will celebrate Mass together, with Archbishop Hebda presiding and share in the Gaudeamus banquet. Preceding Mass and the banquet, lay students will have a convocation, led by Fr. Larry Snyder, Vice President for Mission at the University of St. Thomas. The topic will be "Bearing Witness; Living Out our Faith in the Public Square.
