Mickey L. Mattox is a Professor of Historical Theology at Marquette University. He previously served as Research Professor in the Institute for Ecumenical Research (Strasbourg) and as Assistant Professor of Theology at Concordia University, Chicago. He presently serves as Deputy Editor of Reformation & Renaissance Review and as Associate Editor for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Martin Luther. Mattox is an internationally recognized authority in early modern theology and biblical exegesis. His books include a study of Luther’s reading of Genesis, as well as a translation and critical edition of the Genesis lectures of the Swiss Reformer Johannes Oecolampadius. In 2012, he published Changing Churches, a theological examination of ecumenical conversion from the Lutheran faith tradition to the Roman Catholic. Together with his wife and two sons, Mattox was received into full ecclesiastical communion in the Catholic Church in 2005.
