Third Friday of Lent

Hos 14:2-10/Mk 12:28-34

In today’s Gospel reading Jesus gives us His two big commandments. I hope Jesus’ words find a place in each of our hearts this Lenten season.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
     with all your soul,
     with all your mind,
     and with all your strength.

     The second is this:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

At the heart of Christianity is the call to love God with everything you can muster and to love those around you. Wow. It’s that simple. We are created to love. If you are struggling this lent, pray for love and expand your definition of neighbor. I believe these simple acts create a profound opening in us and bring us closer to God and each other.

Blessings on your journey.
