Center for Chronic Disease Outcomes Research (CCDOR)
The primary purpose of the Counselor position (internally called Health Science Specialist) is to provide research and administrative support for ACTION, a new study that will provide protocol-driven, multi-call telephone counseling to participants enrolled in a motivational interviewing based trial aimed at promoting walking in African American Veterans with chronic pain, to improve pain outcomes. She/he will work onsite at the Center for Chronic Disease Outcomes Research (CCDOR) which is a VA Health Services Research & Development (HSR&D) Center of Innovation located at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The Center’s mission is to enhance (through research, education, dissemination and implementation activities) patient engagement in and provider use of evidence-based practices for chronic disease.
