Serving the social work community with affordable and practice-relevant professional development contact hours

The St. Kate's - St. Thomas School of Social Work is committed to providing the regional social work community with high-quality, affordable opportunities to earn the contact hours needed to achieve and maintain social work licensure.  Throughout the year, we offer a variety of programs and signature events for which we provide certificates of attendance.  Examples include:

  • Our Advanced Clinical Practice Institute offers non-credit bearing continuing education offerings in the six clinical standards required by the Minnesota Board of Social Work, effective for licenses beginning in 2011.
  • Each summer, our Field Practice Institute hosts its annual Summit on Emerging Issues in Social Work Practice to share best practices and develop strategies around emerging and critical issues in social work practice.
  • MSW students present their research to the community at our annual Clinical Research Presentation Day in May. Certificates of attendance provided: .75 contact hours per session
  • Our faculty and our Areas of Emphasis Scholars Programs (in Aging, Military and Practice with Immigrants & Refugees) host other programs throughout the year, frequently including professional education related to Group Work and Supervision.

Events that offer Certificates of Attendance are listed on our Continuing Ed Calendar»
