With keen interest in contemporary problems facing the larger society, my research focuses on the individual, familial, group, social, and environmental factors that enhance the prevention and mitigation of organized violence, mental illness, substance abuse, and human/sexual trafficking and abuse. My backgrounds in law & diplomacy and social work inform my interest and belief in interdisciplinary approaches to human problem-solving.

  • Individual, familial, group, social and environmental factors that enhance the prevention and mitigation of different forms of organized violence.
  • Prevention, mitigation and treatment of mental illness and substance abuse.
  • Prevention, mitigation and rehabilitation of victims of human/sexual trafficking and other forms of human victimization.
  • Monitoring and evaluation (M & E) of socio-psychological and educational programs.
  • Global vulnerabilities and challenges to diversity especially as it affects children and families.
  • Modeling, social algorithm building and use of advanced statistical/quantitative tools in human problem-solving.
