I have always been fascinated by groups and group dynamics, and particularly by the interplay between dynamics and outcomes. As a former school social worker, I am particularly interested in finding ways to show the importance of social work services in the school and demonstrating ways that these services help students improve academically and socially. My scholarly interests are in group work with children and youth, school social work outcomes, record keeping, ethics of decision making regarding minor clients, links between teaching and practice, and evaluation of practice and teaching outcomes.

Expertise / Research Interests

  • Skills for leading groups and ways to foster effective group dynamics
  • Group work dynamics and their effect on group outcomes
  • School social work evaluation and outcomes
  • Identifying the links between group outcomes and student performance in schools
  • Record keeping in school-based practice
  • Ethical practice with minors
