DSW Student a Returning CSWE Minority Fellow

Laura Escobar Ratliff, DSW '18, recipient of 2017-2018 CSWE Minority Doctoral Fellowship

Congratulations to St. Kate's - St. Thomas doctoral student, Laura Escobar-Ratliff, cohort 2, who received funding for her second year as a Minority Fellow in the CSWE Minority Fellowship Program for the 2017-2018 academic year. Laura is one of 24 Fellows (16 returning fellows and 8 new fellows) in this year’s cohort of doctoral fellows. The extension of the award to a second year demonstrates her good work and ongoing commitment to the program.

This is a training and professional development award supported by grant funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), a department of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The fellowship award is for doctoral social work students with a strong commitment to providing behavioral health services to underrepresented racial/ethnic minority populations. The award includes specialized training (in-person and virtual), a monetary stipend, and professional development supports.
