Dr. Rebecca Hoffman DSW '18,  was awarded the Women United Tribute last month. Women United was formed to inspire, educate, and engage women to become actively involved in leadership, philanthropy, volunteerism, and advocacy in support of their local United Way. The Women United Tribute is awarded to women who bring passion, expertise, and resources needed to make an impact in our community. It highlights women who have made a difference in the Bemidji, MN area by giving of their time, talents, and/or gifts. Dr. Rebecca Hoffman spearheaded the creation of Village of Hope, an emergency shelter for families with children in Bemidji through partnerships with state and local elected officials, businesses, and community members. She also led the creation of the Evergreen Youth and Family Services Community Services facility, providing transitional housing, on-site services, a youth drop-in center, and independent living skills for youth experiencing homelessness. Dr. Hoffman currently serves as an assistant professor of social work at Bemidji State University.
