Clinical Research Paper Presentation Day
Join our MSW students as they present their Clinical Research Papers for our SSW community
Date & Time:
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
University of St. Thomas, 2115 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN. McNeely Hall.
As part of our MSW in clinical social work practice, all students write a clinical research paper and participate in our annual Clinical Research Paper Presentation Day. These papers provide an opportunity for students to bring their passion for a topic, population group, practice field, or service delivery area to life while working with a faculty mentor and a community research committee. Students develop skills to critically conduct and interpret social work research to evaluate clinical practice, policies, and programs. The project also provides a tangible demonstration of the student's ability to integrate social work theory with research findings. Employers often seek experience in program evaluation and these papers act as excellent examples of graduates' research capabilities and their ability to contribute to the growing body of social work knowledge.
Each May before graduation, MSW students present their clinical research papers to faculty, colleagues, friends, family, and the greater St. Kate's - St. Thomas School of Social Work community. These presentations encourage us all to explore new perspectives of social work practice.
One hundred thirty-eight MSW students will present during 45-minute sessions throughout the day in the following schedule: 8-8:45 am; 8:50-9:35 am; 9:40-10:25 am; 10:30-11:15 am; 11:20-12:05 pm; LUNCH BREAK from 12:05-1:00 pm; 1:00-1:45 pm; 1:50-2:35 pm; 2:40-3:25 pm; 3:30-4:15 pm.
