Dr. Barbara Shank, who is retiring as dean of the School of Social Work at St. Thomas and St. Catherine, received the St. Thomas Distinguished Service Award Saturday at graduate commencement exercises.
Dr. Carvalho currently serves as executive adviser to the president at the University of St. Thomas. She is also the proud parent of a St. Kate's - St. Thomas BSW graduate.

Rebecca has been employed with BSU since 2014 as a fixed-term faculty member and prior to that served as an Adjunct since 2010. As Assistant Professor of Social Work she will serve as the Director of Field Education and teach macro social work practice courses.
