La Puente Home
Dates: March 2023
Location: Alamosa, Colorado

La Puente is a community’s response to the effects of poverty by providing a safety net of services, where individuals and families get what they need to stabilize, heal, strengthen, and ultimately thrive.
La Puente is a leading human service provider in Southern Colorado. Annually over 16,000 individuals and family members receive at least one of their services, including emergency shelter, nutritious food from one of our 15 pantries, housing with support services, after-school youth-stabilization services, (educational gardens), homeless prevention resources, soup kitchen meals, home outreach visits, and more.
- Focus Area: Rural Poverty, Food Insecurity, Education
- Food and Lodging: The team will stay in a partnering church which will provide the team with a living area, showers, and a kitchen
- Engagement Opportunities: Each day there will be a chance to learn about and participate in one of la Puente’s many outreach areas: painting and light construction, preparing and serving meals in the shelter, organizing clothing and food donations, etc.
La Puente staff will engage the team with conversations about rural poverty, immigration, and emergency services in San Luis Valley.

Selma Center for Non-Violence, Truth, and Reconciliation
Dates: March 2023
Location: Selma, Alabama

SCNVTR’s mission is to promote love and institutionalize racial and economic justice through community partnerships, organizing, conflict reconciliation, and individual and structural change.
The Center helps build community across race, class, religion, and other divides using practices of popular education, community training, and community organizing.
- Focus Area: The History of Civil Rights Movement, Kingian Nonviolence
- Food and Lodging: The team will stay in a partnering church which will provide the team with a living area, showers, and a kitchen
- Engagement Opportunities: Each day there will be a chance to experience the history of Civil Rights with tours of significant locations, listen to oral history, and participate in a variety of community projects
The Center Staff will lead the team through Racial Equity and Kingian non-violence training.

Zion National Park
Dates: March 23
Location: Zion, Utah
Cost: tbd
Participants will venture to Zion National Park trip for a 5-night camping and service experience focused on sustainability and the environment. During the day, participants will aid Zion Rangers in their Leave No Trace outreach with visitors, assist the vegetation crew with invasive vegetation management, engage in litter clean-ups, and enjoy guided hikes to learn about the park's geology and wildlife. There will also be free time to explore the park in its full glory.
