I am a senior majoring in Accounting. I am excited to be a director for VIA and another year of volunteering! I love VIA because it gives us the opportunity to give back to the community and make a positive impact on so many people. One of my favorite memories through VIA is volunteering with children, because we always get to put a smile on their faces! Please contact me at email@example.com with any questions.
Hi, I am Rachel Prosser! I am a senior majoring in political science. Along with being a site leader, I am a Co-Director with Erin and Madelyn, as well as a site leader for MIWRC. I have been involved in VIA for the past two years and have loved every minute of it. The reason I joined VIA was because I thought it would be a good way to give back to the community as well as meeting new people along the way. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
My name is Madelyn Seemann, I am a senior here at St. Thomas majoring in Elementary Education. I am very passionate about being a light in the world. I want the community around me to be made happier, brighter, and overall better because we existed! Volunteers In Action is an incredible way to do that. I love VIA not only for the impact it helps us make, but for kind-hearted, genuine friends I have gained through it as well. Please contact me at email@example.com with any questions.
Adopt a Grandparent
Hi! I’m Abbey Luckraft and I’m a senior Majoring in Applied Mathematics. This year I am Co-Leading Adopt a Grandparent. I am passionate about AAG because many residents at the nursing home don’t get any visitors at all so when they have someone they know is coming to see them specifically it completely changes their mood. Residents wait patiently for us to come back the second we leave. Their stories spew out of their mouths the when we enter their rooms and their face completely lights up. I initially joined VIA to spend time with friends while pouring into others’ lives. I now attend VIA weekly to build relationships with people hungry for connection.
My name is Lindsey Fatze and I am a sophomore majoring in Social work. And I excited to be one of the site leaders for Adopt-A-Grandparent! I became apart of VIA because I thought it would be fun going around helping the community and I could meet new people. One of the reasons why I love VIA and specifically Adopt-A Grandparent, is because you gain something amazing every day. It’s always something that I look forward to every week and it never fails to bring a smile to my face.
My name is Steve Cochran, I am a sophomore majoring in Music and am excited to be the site leader for Harmony Crew! I love volunteering, especially with VIA and Harmony Crew because it allows me to share music with others and, hopefully, initiate a dialogue with the individuals I encounter along the way. Music binds people together like no other discipline, and I can’t wait to see (and hear) the difference Harmony Crew makes this year!
MEDS (Make Every Day Special)
Hi! My name is Molly Costa and I am from Orlando, FL. I am a junior at the university of St. Thomas studying Neuroscience. Joining VIA has given me an opportunity to reach out to the community, meet new people, and get to know more about the Twin Cities. Working with MEDS has been a great way to interact with nurses, doctors, hospital staff and patients and it’s amazing knowing that you have the ability to make someone’s day just a little bit better.
St. Marks Catholic School
My name is Cara Christianson, I am a senior majoring in Actuarial Science and a site leader for Jeremiah Program. I have volunteered with both Jeremiah Program and Adopt a Grandparent in the past and initially began volunteering with them to build relationships with fellow Tommies and those in the community. I have found that I love volunteering because they are ways to take the blessings in my life and use them to help others. I’m looking forward to another rewarding year with some fun kiddos!
Hi, I am Rachel Prosser! I am a senior majoring in political science and I will be the site leader for the Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center this year. Along with being a site leader, I am also a Co-Director with Erin and Madelyn. I have been involved in VIA for the past two years and have loved every minute of it. The reason I joined VIA was because I thought it would be a good way to give back to the community as well as meeting new people along the way. The Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center is a new site this year for VIA and it is all about women empowerment and getting Indian women back on their feet, which is something I am excited to be apart of.
