Torben Andersen

Torben Juul Andersen is professor of strategy and international management at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Director of the Center for Global Strategic Responsiveness (CGSR) at the Department of International Economics and Management (INT).

Prior to his academic career Torben held a number of executive positions as Corporate Bank Head at Citibank, N.A., Vice President at Citicorp Investment Bank Ltd., London, Managing Director of SDS Securities a/s, Head of Capital Markets at Unibank A/S, Copenhagen, Senior Consultant at PHB Hagler Bailly Inc., Arlington, Virginia. He has been a periodic consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank (AIDB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the World Bank, Washington D.C.

Torben holds an MSc in Economics (cand.polit.) from the University of Copenhagen, an MBA in Finance and International Business from McGill University, and a PhD in Strategy and Financial Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His current research interests include: Strategic responsiveness; Risk-return effects; Effective risk management practices; Innovation and adaptive strategy-making; Risk implications of multinationality.
