Leigh O’Neill

Professional Formulator, Purina-Land O’Lakes and MBA Student Representative

Leigh O’Neill provides special insight to the Risk Leadership Initiative as a full Board member and student representative.  Leigh is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration at the University St. Thomas – Opus College of Business.  She will receive her MBA with a certificate in Strategic Risk and Responsibility, a new concentration for professionals seeking to focus studies in risk leadership and related topics.  In her role as the student representative, Leigh will provide valued insight and suggestions from a student perspective.

Leigh was first exposed to Risk Management as a student in Dr. Peter Young’s Risk Management class at St. Thomas.  Since that class, her newly found passion to learn more about Risk Management has inspired her to be a part of the Risk Management study abroad program in London, late Spring 2017 through the University of St. Thomas.

Leigh currently works as a Professional Formulator for Land O’Lakes – Purina.  In her role, she creates animal feed recipes for manufacturing plants on the east coast.  Leigh has been with Land O’Lakes for just over 4 years.

Leigh received her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science with a business emphasis from the University of Minnesota.  She has been working in the animal industry since childhood, beginning with dog walking and wildlife rehabilitation, managing a doggy daycare facility and finally landing at Purina.

When Leigh is not at work or studying for classes, you can find her at home with her dog, Susie Q.  Her other hobbies consist of yoga, brewery tastings, and walking around the lakes in Minneapolis.
