The mission of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of St. Thomas is to assist faculty, staff and student researchers in meeting the highest ethical and professional standards for the use of human participants in research. Researchers intending to collect data about human participants must obtain permission from the IRB prior to any contact with participants.
The Excel! Research Scholars Program is a post-baccalaureate achievement program that prepares undergraduate students for successful completion of the baccalaureate degree, while preparing undergraduate students to apply to, be competitive for and excel in graduate school. Excel! Research Scholars are committed to social change and seek to achieve social justice through scholarship and research.
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) supports and promotes mentored, independent research experiences for students in all fields of study, offering year-round opportunities to propose, pursue and present research as an undergraduate.
Sponsored Programs is the institutional office that assists with the preparation and submission of proposals for project funding from external entities. It is the office delegated to provide institutional endorsements for these proposals to the external funding agencies.
