Deb completed her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of St. Thomas, Graduate School of Professional Psychology. She has been a staff psychologist and clinical supervisor at UST/CAPS since 2005 and has been training director since 2014. Deb integrates developmental, psychodynamic, multicultural and emotion-focused theory in her approach to counseling. Deb enjoys helping students explore issues of identity, emotional awareness and expression, and the developmental transitions of young adulthood (self, career, relationships). Her clinical interests include eating disorders, grief and loss, trauma, sexual identity development, and clinical supervision. As training director, she is dedicated to helping interns develop strong clinical skills, cultural competency, self-awareness, and a confident identity as an early career psychologist. Deb is a proud resident of St. Paul and enjoys being active in all the Minnesota seasons, as well as spending time with family, friends, and pets. She and her wife are traveling enthusiasts and look for every opportunity to explore new places in the world, including Minneapolis.
