The concept of a person plays an important role in contemporary metaphysical, ethical, and political thought. The concept of person of concern to this talk is one that leads to the position that there are human beings who fail to be persons. This talk will examine that particular concept and suggest a different concept of person that will move some way toward understanding what a failed person might be.
