Strengthen Resumes with JobScan
Applicants need to make sure that their resume can get past an employer’s keyword search scanner. The Career Development Center is providing a tool to help students develop a targeted, effective resume, not one based on hopes and best-guesses.
Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) screen candidate applications. ATS are designed to identify the top candidates for each position based on keywords and qualifications found within resumes. To ensure that these systems find a student to be qualified, it is important that candidates personalize a resume for each application. JobScan is a tool help your student do that.
The Career Development Center has partnered with JobScan to provide students and alumni with free a JobScan Premium account (valid through July 2021).
Encourage your students to request a JobScan account by logging into TommieCareers. Then scroll down on the homepage to “Shortcuts and Services” on the right-hand side of the page and click on “Request a JobScan Account.”
