FAFSA Season in Full Swing

Financial Aid: FAFSA season is in full swing

To be considered for need-based financial aid during the upcoming academic year, students must complete the 2017-18 FAFSA.

NEW THIS YEAR: Federal law has changed which tax year is used to file the FAFSA. Parents and students must use 2015 tax data to file the 2017-18 FAFSA. This means everyone should be able to file the FAFSA today.

As FAFSA data is received, the Financial Aid Office will send electronic requests for information to any student who needs to submit additional documentation to verify their FAFSA results.

These electronic notices (if necessary) will be sent to the student’s St. Thomas email and will provide instructions regarding how students can view outstanding requirements using Murphy Online. Often, the documentation required will include the parents’ federal income tax return transcript.

All students who have filed a 2017-18 FAFSA and submitted any additional documents (if required) can expect to receive an award notice in early April.

If you have any questions regarding the FAFSA, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 651-962-6550 or 800-328-6819, Ext. 2-6550 or financialaid@stthomas.edu.
