Reforestation Efforts in the Mindo Cloudforest

Brian Krohnke will speak about reforestation projects in the Mindo Cloudforest in Ecuador and their partnership with Tiny Footprint Coffee in Minnesota, a carbon-negative coffee distributor.

Date & Time:

Tuesday, October 10, 2017
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Location:

OSS LL18

The Office of Sustainability Initiatives and the Department of Biology invite Brian Krohnke to speak about reforestation projects in the Mindo Cloudforest in Ecuador, in addition to their relationship with the company Tiny Footprint Coffee. Brian works with the Mindo Cloudforest Foundation to protect critically endangered habitat in Ecuador. Tiny Footprint Coffee is a local company that uses a portion of their earnings to reforest the Mindo Cloudforest, which helps them offset their carbon footprint (to the point of making them carbon negative!). Tiny Footprint has been one of UST’s Sustainable Communities Partnership partners, and many UST students have already engaged in active research projects with them.

Please join us to learn more about these initiatives that make our world more sustainable. The seminar will be held in OSS LL18 from 12-1pm on Tuesday, October 10th. Free pizza and beverages will be served!
