Learn about Climate-Smart Municipalities, an innovative partnership between five German cities (Iserlohn, Saerbeck, Arnsberg, Münster, and Siegen) and five Minnesotan cities (Elk River, Morris, Warren, Duluth, and Rochester) to jump-start energy-smart and sustainability projects! The partnership is part of the German government’s Transatlantik-Programm. Kristin Mroz from the City of Elk River and Ulrike Badziura, visiting from Elk River's partner city, Iserlohn, Germany, will discuss this exciting partnership.
The City of Elk River is also currently partnering with the University of St. Thomas’ Sustainable Communities Partnership (SCP) to achieve city-identified sustainability goals. SCP links St. Thomas courses across disciplines to the City’s sustainability projects, advancing the common good by engaging students in real-world application of content. Come by if you'd like to learn more! Co-sponsored by the German Club and the Office of Sustainability Initiatives.

This lunch lecture is part of the 2017 Germany meets the US Campus Weeks generously sponsored by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Washington D.C., the St. Thomas’ German program and German club.
