University of St. Thomas, Healthcare BI Summit Launch Think Tank Event Series on Healthcare Data Trends

Healthcare Business Intelligence Summit 2013

The University of St. Thomas and the Healthcare Business Intelligence Summit will partner this week on the first of a new think-tank series of events, the Healthcare Business Intelligence Speaker Series. The program is designed to provide healthcare executives, clinical leaders and IT professionals with insight into data trends and best practices in healthcare data analytics and management.

Sponsored by Lancet Software, the first of two in-depth sessions, Analytics Adventures in Accountable Care, a Pioneer’s Experience, takes place April 11, 2013. Presented by Sam VanNorman, Director of Business Intelligence and Clinical Analytics at Park Nicollet Health System, the session is set to examine the healthcare organization’s experience as they transition from a fee-for-service model to an accountable care model against the backdrop of the changing national healthcare landscape.

“Data has never been more important in healthcare management,” says Laura Madsen, founder of the Healthcare BI Summit and Speaker Series. “The national healthcare landscape is evolving rapidly and bringing sweeping, mandated change to the way organizations will collect, analyze and manage their operational data. In cooperation with St. Thomas’ Center for Health and Medical Affairs we created the Healthcare Business Intelligence Speaker Series to help healthcare executives, clinical professionals and the broader healthcare data community understand the implications and find solutions that can help them improve efficiency, save costs and ultimately create better care across the board.”
