STAR, St. Thomas Activities and Recreation, presents five events this week:
Wednesday, Sept. 22
Join Fanamaniac in cheering for the women’s soccer team as it plays the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 3 p.m. on the south campus athletic fields. Sweatpants will be given out, but quantities are limited.
Thursday, Sept. 23
Thursday Night Live welcomes Carlos Andrez Gomez, an award-winning actor, playwright and poet from New York City. He will perform spoken word poetry at 10 p.m. at Scooter’s, lower level, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
Friday, Sept. 24
Michael Anthony, a mentalist who may “blow your mind,” will walk around campus performing amazing little tricks all day – but don’t miss his show at 9 p.m. at Scooter’s.
Saturday, Sept. 25
STAR presents two events today:
- Find the Fanamaniacs’ root beer float football fest from noon to 1 p.m. in the upper quad. The floats will be served in special collector mugs. Then, head to O’Shaughnessy Stadium to cheer for the Tommie football team, which plays Concordia-Moorhead at 1 p.m.
- Tommies After Dark presents “Old Time Photos” from 10 p.m. to midnight in the Koch Commons Fireside Lounge. Dress up in clothes that make you look like someone from a past era. Bring friends and see who makes the best cowboy or cowgirl.
