Derby Days, a weeklong event that Sigma Chi chapters across the nation host to raise money for charity, will be held on campus May 10-14. The Iota Tau chapter at St. Thomas will support the Huntsman Cancer Institute with a variety of fun competitions.
Event winners will receive 2010 Sigma Chi Derby Days shirts provided by the chapter and other prizes, such as Twins tickets, Target gift cards, Noodles gift cards, and pizzas from Davanni's.
The schedule:
- Monday – Tug-of-War, 3-5 p.m. in the upper quad, $10 per team
- Tuesday – Three-Point Basketball Shootout, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in McCarthy Gym, $5 per session
- Wednesday – Jelly Bean Jar Guess, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the north entrance of the cafeteria, $1 for two guesses
- Thursday – Tour de Quad, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., competitors will race Big Wheels in the lower quad, $1 per session
- Friday – Volleyball Tournament, 5-9 p.m. on the sand volleyball court behind John Paul II hall, $20 per team
