Register Now for Late Spring Intramurals

Registration is open now until March 22 for the late spring intramurals. Most of these activities are outdoors and will begin play the week after spring break. The sports offered are:

Co-ed Soccer
This soccer league will be different from any league in the past. It will be 5-v-5 with no goalkeeper and small PUG goals. Need two males and two females on the field. Played between 5 and 10 p.m. Sundays on the football field. Max of 36 teams.

Co-ed Softball
Played between 5 and 9 p.m. Sundays off campus at McMurray softball complex. Fields are lighted. Minimum of 10 players per team. Need five males and five females. Cost per team is $30 to cover field rentals. Max of 32 teams.

3-v-3 Basketball Tournament
This is the 20th year of the 3-v-3 Basketball Tournament. The tournament will feature two divisions – men's and co-ed. Both will crown a winner and both winners will play the winners from St. John's and St. Ben's April 5 at the Target Center after the Timberwolves-Toronto Raptors game. The men's division can have a max of 16 teams with three or four males per team. The co-ed division can have a max of eight teams, and each team must have two males and two females. The St. Thomas tournament to determine which teams will advance to Target Center will be held Wednesday, April 3, starting about 6 p.m. Each team entered into the tournament will receive four Timberwolves tickets, four white/purple reversible UST 3-v-3 Tournament jerseys, four hot dogs, four candy bars and four soft drinks. Cost per team is $20 to help offset expenses of the tournament.

Bean Bags
Double Elimination tournament played Monday and Wednesday afternoons as soon as the snow clears and the weather gets nice (most likely middle of April). Played by the concession area of the football field. Open tournament format, and teams need two players per team of either gender. Fun sport to play outside while enjoy the spring weather.

Co-ed Kickball
One-day tournament on April 27 played on the football field. Each team needs seven players of which at least three are males and three are females. Will be either single or double elimination depending on the number of teams that sign up.

Sand Volleyball
Played Monday through Thursday on the sand volleyball court behind Ireland Hall and John Paul II Hall. Each team will have four players on the court. At least two males and two females per team. Teams will play one to two times per week. Max of 48 teams.

Tennis
Two-day open singles tournament played between 9 a.m. and noon April 21 and 28 in the AARC field house; in addition, a league will be formed this year. The league supervisor will set up the matches each week and tell players where and when courts are available. Players will then set up their own matches with their opponents and inform the supervisor of the scores of their matches.
