A farewell reception will be Wednesday, June 10, for Dr. Kris Bunton, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, who has been named dean of the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University.
The reception will be 2-4 p.m. in Scooter's with a program at 2:45.
TCU announced Bunton’s appointment, effective July 1, last month. The college is named after Schieffer, chief Washington correspondent of CBS News since 1982 and moderator of the network’s public affairs show “Face the Nation” since 1991.
Bunton joined the St. Thomas Journalism and Mass Communication Department in 1993. She chaired the department, helped to oversee its merger with Communication Studies to form the Communication and Journalism Department, and served as its first chair. She oversaw the transition from The Aquin, a weekly student newspaper, to TommieMedia, and became associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in 2011.
