Dr. Michael Cogan, Institutional Research and Analysis, Academic Affairs, is the author of an article, “Meaningful Planning ... Informed Decisions,” published in the Feb. 15 SCUP Planning Institute Newsletter. His work explains how meaningful planning requires that higher education institutions make informed decisions based on accurate, timely and useful information.
Undergraduate student Sam Johnson, working with Dr. AnnMarie Thomas, School of Engineering, presented an invited demonstration of his conductive/non-conductive play dough at the Jan. 28 Excellence in Elementary Engineering Education (E4) conference.
Father Jan Michael Joncas, Catholic Studies and Theology departments, College of Arts and Sciences, will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., on April 14.
Dr. Lon Otto, English Department, College of Arts and Sciences, is the author of a short short story, “Love Poems,” that was broadcast Feb. 14, on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered.”
Dr. AnnMarie Thomas, School of Engineering, spoke at the Feb. 12 Technology, Entertainment and Design conference. Her talk, “Why Making Matters,” looked at the role childhood plays in technological innovation.
