'Poetry on the Patio' to Celebrate National Poetry Month April 22

UST Libraries invites the St. Thomas community to Poetry on the Patio. This year's festivities will begin at noon Tuesday, April 22, the first day back after St. Thomas' Easter holiday.

This year's readers will include Wendy Wyatt, Communication and Journalism Department; Michael Klein, Justice and Peace Studies Department; Lisa Keiser, Health and Human Performance Department; Emily Kindelspire, graduating senior; Eric Kallas, UST Libraries; Jeri Rockett, Counseling and Psychological Services; Marites Guino-o, Chemistry Department; Young Ok-An, English Department; Jeff Jalkio, Physics Department; and Dan Gjelten, UST Libraries.

The event will be held outside on the patio of the O'Shaughnessy -Frey Library unless the weather decides to play tricks with chilly air or rainy skies. In that case, the event will be brought indoors to the O'Shaughnessy Room.

Poetry on the Patio is a Tommie Tradition that spans more than 15 years and has been an annual celebration of National Poetry Month since 1999. Members of the St. Thomas community, including staff, administrators, students and faculty, are invited to read a poem or two of their choosing. Always a popular event, it provides a chance to share a love of poetry with friends and co-workers, and learn a little more about the people who work alongside us day to day.
