Help Out at Mississippi River Cleanup Saturday

For more than 20 years, the UST Green Team and the Recycling Team have been partners in cleaning up the east banks of the Mississippi River between Marshall Avenue and Ford Parkway. It is always a festive occasion when St. Thomas students, faculty and staff join with neighborhood volunteers to climb the hill and pick up the trash and debris.

Once again this Saturday, April 26, volunteers will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the intersection of River Road and Summit Avenue, grabbing bags and a pair of gloves (courtesy of the Department of Natural Resources Adopt-a-River Program) and heading out to spend time outdoors keeping the river park clean.

Come join the teams. Treats and coffee will be set out to get the day going. Wear good shoes and comfortable clothes to spend a couple of hours on the river. If you are a UST student club member, this action counts toward your club’s volunteer hours, so please remember to sign in.

The annual University of St Thomas Spring River Cleanup is the concluding event for the 2014 Earth Week Celebration.
