Free biometric health screening is now available at Health Services for University of St. Thomas faculty and staff who have not completed their annual screening.
Appointments are available 8-9 a.m. Mondays-Fridays and can be scheduled at MyHealthPortal or by calling Health Services at (651) 962-6750. Fasting is required. Visits are fast, free and confidential, and award 500 points toward the UST Vitality wellness program.
The biometric screening includes total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, cholesterol/HDL ratio, triglycerides, blood glucose, blood pressure, height, weight and body mass index. As high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol are major risk factors for heart disease and stroke, knowing these numbers can reduce your risk of chronic disease.
Results are published to MyHealthPortal in 1-2 business days. The results can be printed, saved to the computer, uploaded to the Vitality wellness program points or shared with primary care providers.
