Final Session of Fall Fitness Classes Starts Monday, Nov. 12

The final session of fall fitness classes is now on sale. Classes will begin the week of Monday, Nov. 12, at the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. The classes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are open to all St. Thomas undergraduate students, and graduate and professional students and faculty and staff who are AARC members.

Classes meet twice a week over a four-week period for a total of eight class meetings. All classes will be held in one of the AARC’s aerobic studios, Room 112 or 113.

Register by visiting Tommie Central in the Anderson Student Center. Each package of eight class meetings are $35 for students with a valid student ID, and $45 for all other AARC members.

Schedule of classes

  • Sculpt4-5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
    Sculpt classes provide a yoga-inspired workout that tones the whole body. Free weights used in the class allow individuals to personalize the intensity of the workout. During this four-week program, class members will build lean muscle, burn calories and boost their metabolisms.
  • SpinningNoon-1 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
    Love to work up a serious sweat and burn a lot of calories? Then Spinning is for you. In this one-hour class, participants simulate road cycling on stationary bikes while guided by an instructor and motivated by high-energy music.
  • JazzerciseNoon-12:30 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays
    Burn up to 600 calories in one fun and powerfully effective total body workout. Every Jazzercise group fitness class combines dance-based cardio with strength training and stretching to sculpt, tone and lengthen muscles for maximum fat burn. Choreographed to today's hottest music, Jazzercise is a fusion of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga and kickboxing. Start dancing yourself fit and change the shape of your body today!
  • Basic Yoga5:15-6:15 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays
    Basic Yoga incorporates all yoga fundamentals and is designed to increase strength, flexibility and endurance. This class is a great way to enhance all aspects of the body and mind.
  • Intermediate Yoga5:15-6:15 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
    Basic Yoga incorporates all yoga fundamentals and is designed to increase strength, flexibility and endurance. This class is a great way to enhance all aspects of the body and mind.
  • Zumba5:15-6:15 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays
    This class will incorporate all aspects of an energizing, calorie-burning workout. This easy to follow Latin-inspired dance aerobics will move every part of your body. A sure way to fire anyone up!
