Halogen bonding is an attractive force that can exist between halogens and electron-rich atoms such as nitrogen and oxygen. It is being utilized in macromolecular engineering, biochemistry and pharmacology.

Ulness will discuss studies of halogen bonding in iodo-perfluoroalkane systems.

Chemistry Seminars are held at 3 p.m. each Friday in Room 251, Owens Science Hall. All are welcome to attend.
