Classroom-Based Assessment of Vocal Performance in the Elementary Music Classroom
Assessment is a necessary component to gauging what and how a student learned. Multiple types of assessment design exist for the elementary music classroom. Classroom-based performance assessment is implemented regularly to identify learning needs and progress within the classroom. The purpose of this project is to identify necessary components of classroom-based performance assessment to develop a systematic speech to singing classroom-based performance assessment continuum for use in a specific district. Using district specific learning objectives, the author provides ten sequenced performance assessments for use in the elementary music classroom.
