Jordan Carew

J.D./Catholic Studies, 2022

Jordan is a first-year student in the J.D. / M.A. Catholic Studies program.

A 2019 graduate of the University of St. Thomas, Jordan received his Bachelor of Arts in Catholic Studies, completing his degree at St. Thomas’ Rome campus. During his undergraduate program, Jordan served on the Undergraduate Student Government as a class senator, working with administrators and other undergraduates to help to secure funding for an on-campus memorial for students who passed away while working for their undergraduate degree. In addition, Jordan worked for the Center for Campus Ministry as Lead Cantor, recruiting and training other cantors, and leading congregations in worship. Jordan was also involved in music ensembles as an undergraduate, including the St. Thomas Chamber Singers, Schola Cantorum, and the student choir at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Angelicum, in Rome, Italy.

Jordan is grateful for the opportunity to pursue advanced degrees at St. Thomas and to be selected as a Murphy Scholar. He hopes the Terrence J. Murphy Institute’s mission to engage the church, the academic community, and the public in discussions of law and public policy will allow him to further his own understanding of the integration of law, faith, and advancing the common good, with an eye toward further study in Canon Law.
