Major Explorers

Major Explorers Living Learning Community (LLC)

One of the best things about college is the world of opportunities it presents. St. Thomas students can study one (or two) of nearly 100 different majors and more than 50 minors. Choosing from that many options can be intimidating, but the process of discovering what you want to major or minor in can also be transforming. If you’re an “undecided” student – we like to say an “explorer” – this LLC is for you.

During fall semester, you’ll take core courses in English and Theology or Art History with other exploring students, and you’ll live together in a residence hall. Some of your coursework will connect to the idea of discerning your vocation, of figuring out the direction you want to go with your college career. As part of the LLC, you’ll also work with career and academic counselors to learn about possibilities and explore your strengths and interests, and your resident assistant will connect you with other students who began as explorers themselves and plan events and programs that build an ongoing community of explorers.  And while you’re an explorer of majors, you’ll also be a major explorer: of the world around and within you, exploring not just what you want to do with your life, but who you want to be.
