“Empowering Women at the Base of the Economic Pyramid through Peace Engineering”

Dr. Camille George and senior Bridget Carey will be speaking on peace engineering as the power of service in engineering. This growing field, both at UST and within the engineering profession, provides opportunities for those at the bottom of the economic pyramid around the world, particularly to women. Bringing a perspective of designing in companionship with female subsistence farmers, our work aims to help provide greater yield, higher quality, and added value for economic justice. The speakers will bring examples from their own work in post-harvest processing tools with several local and global NGOs.
