This year, we will be combining our annual Chocolate Reception with our February Feminist Friday talk by Prof. Nekima Levy-Pounds. She will speak from 3-4 during the Chocolate Reception. In this talk, Professor Nekima Levy-Pounds will discuss her experiences as a woman leader in law, politics, and social activism. The title of her talk is "The Time for Justice is Now". She was recently involved in #BlackLivesMatter demonstrations and the #Justice4Jamar campaign following the officer-involved shooting of 24 year old Jamar Clark at the hands of Minneapolis Police. This talk will challenge and inspire those who attend to do their part in fighting for freedom, justice, and equality.
