The Luann Dummer Center for Women will be hosting a speed mentoring event for women on Tuesday, September 30 from 5:30 – 8:00 in Woulfe Alumni Hall. Through this event, 45 female students will be given an opportunity to meet with 15 mentors for up to three minutes each in hopes to understand the unique rewards, challenges, and benefits of a woman in the workplace. Our "Tommie Talks" event is designed to be supportive, educational, and dynamic so women are able to make crucial business connections, learn new ways to succeed, and foster meaningful partnerships. The mentors come from diverse backgrounds and include a wide range of age groups and professions. Our co-sponsors include the Feminist Community (FemCom), the Career Development Center, and the Alumni Association. With the help of our co-sponsors we hope women attending will leave the event with the right tools to overcome workplace challenges and possess a positive outlook on future dreams and endeavors.
