Please join the Student Diversity and Inclusion Services office in celebrating National Native American Heritage Month. Events will take place the end of October through November, and we encourage you and your students to attend.

All month long we will have Purple Bench time in the office. We would love for your students to come learn about Native American culture. Additional events include: “Still We Rise” series with the Luann Dummer Center for Women on Tuesday, November 25th at 5:30pm that will feature a special menu of homemade wild rice soup, cornbread, drink refreshments and a TEDx Talk by Matika Wilber.

Once again, T’s will feature a special lunch menu to honor the indigenous people of our country.  The week of Thanksgiving (Nov. 24-26), T’s will reexamine the holiday from a Native perspective.  We hope you will enjoy the special menu crafted by the talented chefs here at the University of St. Thomas.

Our big celebration takes place on Monday, November 24th from 5-7pm in OEC AuditoriumNative Pride Arts will present a Native pride dance and storytelling led by Larry Yazzie. Larry has performed all over the world and won many awards for his dancing. As an international lecturer, dancer, and educator, he has earned the reputation for being one of the nation's leading experts on Native American dance.  His repertoire includes performances at the Olympics, The Kennedy Center, and the Smithsonian Institute.
