The Schoenecker Law Library is currently closed to the public. However, it is within walking distance of several law libraries open to all.

Below is a list of online resources that the public can use to explore a legal issue. Legal Research Guides, written by the St. Thomas law librarians, are publicly available and can help guide you to resources that may be useful.

Google Scholar

Provides both a free case law search (50 states + Fed) under "Case law" and law review articles under "Articles".

Legal Information Institute

Cornell University Law School project that provides free statutes, cases and regulations.

FindLaw

Provides free access to cases and statutes.

Congress.Gov

Includes legislative activity, roll call votes, calendars, schedules, committees, the Congressional Record, and status information on treaties.

FDSys

FDSys provides free online access to official publications from all three branches of the federal government.

Minnesota Office of the Revisor of Statutes

Provides both up-to-date Minnesota Statutes and legislative history material.
