Mr. Webb is the managing attorney for the Person Felony Unit of the Hennepin County Public Defender's office. Previously he served as a member of the MN Public Defender’s Trial Team.  He handles complex and high profile trials with forensic or scientific issues around the entire state.  Mr. Webb mentors and co-counsels trials with less experienced trial lawyers and he teaches at the MN Public Defender's Trial Institute. Mr. Webb co-created and co-teaches the Misdemeanor Clinic for students at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.

Webb Students will attend classes to learn about the practical and official rules of criminal procedure in Minnesota Courtrooms, and will be assigned to a practicing public defender attorney to learn how to represent clients in different types of proceedings (generally assigned based on student interest; for example, students interested in juvenile representation will represent juveniles). No prerequisites or co-requisites for summer session – professional responsibility will be worked into the classes for rising 2Ls.

The advanced student(s) will attend the Misdemeanor Classes which are dedicated to topics that are practiced by students in a moot courtroom setting (bail arguments, negotiations, guilty plea colloquies); in those classes, the advanced student(s) will do both demonstrations, judging, and provide feedback to students in the Misdemeanor Clinic. Enrollment is at the permission of the instructor.
