Rebecca Ribich is a founding partner in the firm of Brekke, Clyborne & Ribich. She focuses her practice in the areas of family law, juvenile law and family-based immigration issues.  She desires to assist clients in proactively and positively working through what are often challenging and difficult times in their lives.  Ms. Ribich also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in their Mentor Externship Program and has been a guest speaker in Professional Responsibility class and a guest coach in Negotiations for the past several years.

Rebecca brings a great deal of community involvement and work experience to her practice.  She currently is a member of the steering committee for the Minnesota Business Ethics Award and on the Board of Directors for the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce, where she served as President in 2009.  Rebecca also participates in the Minnesota Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers and the MSBA Mock Trial Program.

As a former UST law student, she was a volunteer for the Family Justice Society, the St. Thomas Student Ambassador Program, a member of the Minnesota Women's Lawyers St. Thomas chapter, and the peer mentor advisory committee.  Rebecca also served as a certified student attorney in theUniversityofSt. Thomas’sInterprofessionalCenterfor Counseling and Legal Services in the Family Law practice group.

Prior to law school, Rebecca worked as a business management consultant for a professional development training company and as a financial analyst and business administrator for Honeywell/Alliant Techsystems Inc.  She left the professional workforce for a time to focus on raising her young children and devote more time to community involvement. 

Rebecca's involvement in the community has spanned the last 30 years. She was a founding appointee and chairperson of the City of Plymouth Human Rights Commission, chairperson of an educational fundraising committee, chairperson of the parish council a large suburban parish,  facilitator of adult education programs and a religious education teacher for high school students. Rebecca has also spent time volunteering with the St. Paul United Way, and served as a tutor for English as a Second Language (ESL) programs. Rebecca lives in Plymouth with her husband Dean and their two children.

Mentors introduce students to a wide range of lawyering tasks and judicial activities and share with them the traditions, ideals and skills necessary for a successful career. Second and third year students participate in an academic credit pro- gram that combines fieldwork with a contemporaneous seminar component. The seminar fosters the habit and skill of reflective lawyering and draws upon student/ mentor experiences to examine the law school's mission in a practical setting. Class topics are designed to bridge the gap between student learning and life as a lawyer. Each student is given the opportunity to individualize learning goals specific to his or her unique path of professional development.
