Join us Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at the University of St. Thomas School of Law for a symposium that will focus on developments over the last 25 years, since the publication of the MacCrate Report, and over the last 10 years, since the publication of Educating Lawyers and Best Practices. In addition to the Symposium on Friday, there will also be a workshop on Saturday, Feb. 18, looking ahead at what can be done to encourage law schools to place greater emphasis on professional identity formation.

The symposium/workshop is being hosted by the University of St. Thomas Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions and co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of the Legal Profession at the Georgetown University Law Center, Parris Institute for Professional Formation at the Pepperdine University School of Law, Center for Ethical Formation and Legal Education at the Regent University School of Law, and the ABA Standing Committee on Professionalism. 

The Friday symposium will look back at developments in professional formation within legal education since the MacCrate Report and Educating Lawyers and Best Practices while also looking at professional identity formation efforts in the military and in medicine.
