Join the Murphy Institute for an evening of song and celebration featuring soprano Elena Stabile performing two contemporary classical song cycles: Passing Melodies, Samuel Barber’s composition based on the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke, and The Deepest Desire: Four Meditations on Love, Jake Hegge’s music based on the meditations of activist and author (Dead Man Walking), Sr. Helen Prejean.
Elena Stabile is a soprano currently based in Knoxville, TN, where she is completing her Master of Music in Voice Performance at the University of Tennessee. She recently performed with the University of Tennessee Opera Theater as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro and with Red River Lyric Opera as the title character in Alcina. In addition to her work on the opera stage, Ms. Stabile has a deep love for contemporary classical music.
