Emerging Compliance & Ethics Leaders Network Event

A group for emerging leaders in the complex field of compliance and ethics.

Date & Time:

Thursday, October 21, 2021
7:30 AM - 9:00 AM

The Emerging Compliance & Ethics Leaders (ECEL) Network is a group for aspiring leaders in the complex field of compliance and ethics. ECEL events are intended to provide professionals who are building their careers with a comfortable and relaxed forum where they can meet and talk with peers about issues they face every day.

All ECEL gatherings are held on the third Thursday of the month in January, April, July and October. Meetings allow emerging leaders a chance to network, exchange ideas, and share thought leadership with their colleagues.

Normally held in person, October's meeting will be held online via Zoom. The guest speaker will be Peter Anderson, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at Carnival Corporation.

Anderson is the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of Carnival Corporation & plc (“Carnival Corp.”), which is one of the largest cruise lines in the world, comprised of nine different brands, which operate over 100 ships, and which employs over 150,000 employees from all over the globe. He also sits on the Executive Leadership Team and oversees the Corporation’s global Ethics & Compliance (“E&C”) Program.
The E&C Program is comprised of various leaders at the Corporation’s headquarters, as well as the Ethics & Compliance Officers who are embedded in each of the four operating groups. Aligned with the risk-profile, the E&C Program priorities include environmental; health, safety and security; as well as general compliance topics. The Team also includes leaders in the critical areas of Investigations, Compliance Risk, Compliance Training and Compliance Communications.
Prior to joining Carnival Corp, Anderson led the White Collar & Compliance Team at the law firm of Beveridge & Diamond. He previously the environmental compliance leader on the Volkswagen Diesel Court Appointed Monitor Team. After graduating from law school, he clerked for the Honorable Graham C. Mullen, United State District Court Judge in Charlotte, N.C., and then was selected into the U.S. Department of Justice Honors Program and served as a federal prosecutor. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University (summa cum laude) and a law degree from the University of Virginia.
