This spring the United States will hear oral arguments in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, a case regarding the Mississippi 6-week abortion ban. The single issue before the Court is "whether all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional." The Prolife Center submitted one of the 75 amicus briefs filed in support of Mississippi in the case, and Professor Teresa Collett also served as lead counsel on a brief filed by 240 women scholars and professionals. Briefs by the abortion clinic and amici supporting them must be filed by September 20 and Mississippi's reply brief will be filed on October 13. This presentation will outline the arguments presented in the case and discuss the contours of possible decisions by the Court. Lunch will be provided.
